CAPTAIN BLOOD
This be a Bloody Mary Flint design and what we call a
modified Justaucorps of the late 17th Century.  This
coat is contoured to the upper body and at the waist as
the term implies for a close fit.

Our sleeves have a bit more ease for comfort than was
typical on the tight fitting Justaucorps of the 1690’s.
The sleeve length is longer (most men these days don’t
seem to like the ¾ length of the late 17th C. coat) It
does have the straight front opening, wide but not
excessively full skirt with split tail complete with buttons
and braid trim.

This elegant, substantial Captain’s coat boasts large
split cuffs (but not as huge as the original coats had)
that are padded and embroidered with crosshatching
and studs. This detailing is also on the pocket flaps. It
has magnificent gold braided buttonholes and front
trim. Cuffs, pocket flaps and front opening are edged
with matching satin piping.

This coat is shown in a velveteen with jacquard lining.
Historically the late 17th C. Justaucorps did not have a
lapel or collar. As with all our coats, it has metal buttons
and deep working pockets.  This coat also has an inside
flask pocket. The coat pictured shows the top edges
folded back to reveal the rich jacquard lining and held in
place with buttons but this is an optional detail.

Price: $500
