PIRATE HARBOR

THE GILET / WAISTCOAT
                           The Gilet / Waistcoat

Great alternative for hot weather events!

Aye, ‘tis  a well dressed gentleman and pyrate alike
who wore gilets (aka: waistcoats) under their outer
coats. Too hot where you pillage?  Wear a gilet
instead of a coat.  These gilets look great belted and
with a fabulous frilly pirate shirt!

Here is our version of an elegant early 18th Century
sleeveless Gilet. These waistcoats were shorter
(above the knee) than the outer coat.  Front has 16
functional metal buttons and can be buttoned closed
or worn open.  Inset godets at sides of coat add flare
to the skirt. It has a split to the waist tail with tab and
buttons at the waistline, functional hidden pockets on
each side.

Outer fabrics used are typically ornate brocades or
tapestry fabrics. These are also fully lined in your
choice of cool cotton blends or satin. Front panels and
pocket flaps can be of contrasting fabrics (green
suede cloth shown in picture). This be a made to
order especially for you.  Contact us to discuss colors
and fabrics.

Starts at $185 Brocades and Tapestry.
