MEASURING INFORMATION
            FOR
CUSTOM-MADE CLOTHING

LADIES:

If you will wear a corset under your new gown, please wear the
corset while taking measurements (and let us know!)

1. Bust - Measure the fullest part of your bust. This will be
different than your modern bra size.

2. Underbust - Needed for high-waisted gowns. Just under bust,
where your bra strap fits.

3. Waist - Your natural waist, usually the smallest point on your
torso.

4. Back Shoulder Width - You can measure a well-fitting jacket.

5. Back Waist Length - Base of neck to natural waist.

6. Sleeve Length - Shoulder seam to wrist.

7. Skirt Length - Waistline to hem. If you'll be wearing a hoop slip,
this measurement must be taken over the hoops. You'll need a
friend to help, to get an accurate measurement.  Stand up
straight, and let the measuring tape fall from the waistline to a
point just above the floor.  If your skirt touches the floor, you will
step on it at some point; you need at least an inch clearance.

Remember what Granny says - Stand up straight!

GENTLEMEN:

1. Chest -  Largest part, generally just under arms.

2. Waist - Largest part of belly, not necessarily your jeans size.

3. Back Shoulder Width - You can measure a well-fitting jacket.

4. Back Waist Length - Base of neck to natural waist.

5. Sleeve Length - Shoulder seam to wrist.

6. For Pants - Outseam - Waist to hem.

Inseam - Crotch to hem.  This is the second
                                    number of your jeans size.
